MODERN PERKINS BRAILLER

Fall 2019

For my senior design project, my team and I built a modern braille typewriter. The current device is very loud, heavy, and bulky, so we aimed to improve on those features, as well as make the product cheaper. This project required a lot of subsystems, such as to feed the paper into the typewriter, to move the braille embosser across the paper, and to actually emboss the braille letters, The complexity of this project allowed me to apply all of the skills I learned in the last 3 years to a project of my own, and was constantly teaching me something new.
